Centre d’hémodialyse Hôpital Privé d'Athis-Mons

Medical Dialysis Unit

The MDU is intended in particular for partially autonomous patients.

Daily life and haemodialysis

Haemodialysis is more compatible with a professional activity and patients can, with the prior agreement of the nephrologist and depending on the number of places available in the unit, adapt their dialysis schedule to their activities. With a fistula, many sporting activities are possible, as long as they do not cause excessive fatigue or interfere with the vascular approach. The presence of a catheter, on the other hand, is more restrictive. The prior opinion of the nephrologist is required.

  • In the Medical Dialysis Unit (UDM), a nephrologist is systematically present at the start of each session to visit each patient.
  • Paramedical staff are present throughout the centre's opening hours.
  • The nephrologists are on call.

Organisation of patient discharge

MDU patients are discharged within the centre. Agreements between the dialysis centre and the Sud Francilien hospital centre, the Pitié Salpêtrière hospital and the Thiais private hospital organise the transfer of patients to these facilities.
